Jennifer Davis is the Co-Founder and President of Massachusetts 2020, a non-profit foundation founded in 2000 focused on expanding educational and economic opportunities for children and families across Massachusetts.
Davis served in the Clinton Administration as Deputy Assistant Secretary, Office of Intergovernmental and Interagency Affairs, at the U.S. Department of Education.
Davis began her career as a consultant to the youth organization Communities in Schools and developed case studies on their innovative program to support at-risk youth in Houston, TX, Atlanta, GA, Columbia, SC, and Charlotte, NC.
Davis has a Master's Degree in Public Policy from the Claremont Graduate School in Claremont, California, and a Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in government and sociology from Connecticut College. She was named a Coro Fellow in public policy in 1984 and participated in this leadership-training program in St. Louis, Missouri.
Over the years, Jennifer has served on numerous boards and advisory committees including the National and Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus, Boston's After-School for All Partnership Executive Committee, several U.S. Department of Education and National Science Foundation advisory boards, Harvard's Program in Afterschool Education and Research Advisory Board, and the boards of two charter schools. She was recently named to the board of Boston After School & Beyond.
Jennifer was born and raised in Haverhill, Massachusetts and currently lives with her husband in Lynn, Massachusetts. (More)
Chris Gabrieli is an entrepreneur across the fields of business, nonprofits and public policy.
Following the success of GMIS, the healthcare software company he cofounded, Gabrieli joined Bessemer Venture Partners. Throughout his 15 years as a partner with Bessemer, he has worked to help other entrepreneurs start and grow their companies. Gabrieli's firm has invested over $1 billion in start-up high-tech and biotechnology companies, helping to create more than 100,000 new jobs. He remains active as a Senior Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, focused on biotechnology.
Gabrieli is a committed participant in the civic life of Boston and Massachusetts. He currently serves as Chairman of Massachusetts 2020, which he co-founded in 2000.
Gabrieli is also the Co-Chairman of the National Center on Time & Learning, a national think tank, which works to research how schools expand time to strengthen learning, supports public policy at the local, state and federal level, and provides technical assistance to schools, districts and states seeking to expand time for learning.
His book, Time to Learn, about the need to rethink the current school schedule is in bookstores now.
Gabrieli also serves as the Chairman of the Springfield Finance Control Board after being asked to serve in that position by Governor Deval Patrick in June of 2007.
In addition, he serves numerous civic and university boards in Massachusetts. In 2002, he won the Democratic primary for Lt. Governor and came in second in the Democratic primary for Governor of Massachusetts in 2006.
